OBAMA WINS JBG PRESIDENTIAL POLL
By JBG Staff

The final votes have been tallied and Senator Barack Obama is the winner of the Just Between Girlfriends, online presidential poll.

Eight-Hundred and twenty-two (822) JBG members and visitors to the website voted over the course of the past two months.

“Obama will bring a fresh face and new attitude to American politics,” said Cassidy. “He is bright, well-read and has Oprah’s support. If Obama can’t figure out what to do, he can call O and she’ll help him move mountains.”

Obama received 541 votes, 66%. Senator Hillary Clinton finished in second place with 243 votes which counted for 30% of the votes. John Edwards received a mere 21 votes, 3% of the total votes. Only 2% of JBG said they plan to vote Republican.

“I voted for Hillary, but I was torn,” said Lena. “I’d love to see a woman in the White House and I’d also like to see Obama there because he seems to have a fresh look at how the country should be run.”

Several JBG members said they wished Hillary and Obama were running in different races so they would not have to pick a “woman over a brother or a brother over a woman.”

In the latest USA Today Gallup poll it looks like there will be a showdown between Hillary and former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

Hillary has a 16-point lead over second-place Sen. Barack Obama. Former vice president Al Gore, who has repeatedly said he has no plans to run for the White House in 2008, comes in third, USA Today reported. Giuliani has the support of 30% of "Republicans and Republican leaners," vs. 28% a month ago; Fred Thompson comes in with 20%, vs. 19% in June; McCain has 16%, vs. 18% a month earlier, USA Today reported.

To the surprise of politicos and everyday people, Obama has done extremely well with campaign contributions, giving Hillary a run for the money. Obama’s website has raked in millions in donations.

Earlier this month, Hillary and Obama spoke at the Essence Music Festival and courted voters during the 13th annual event held in New Orleans. Obama spoke to a crowd of about 30,000 at the Superdome and Hillary had a more intimate crowd of 10,000 at the Convention Center.

“They are both dynamic speakers,” said Juanita. “I want to vote for both of them.”
